Client: North Valley Eye Care in Chico, CA
Project: Network Infrastructure Upgrade, Managed IT, and UCC
Background: North Valley Eye Care needed a complete network upgrade including LAN, WAN and cabling to all five of their locations as preparation in deploying Unified Communications. Their offices stretch over three counties, which all acted independently on separate networks. To add to the complexity, the doctors and staff traveled in between all sites.
Challenge: Quorum was presented with the following:
- Their networks were not supported, monitored, redundant or standardized, causing outages, delays, and general underperformance
- Several offices, primarily their main site, were maxed out on their existing PBX’s
- Often causing patients to hear a busy signal when calling
- The offices used a hosted EMR, Advanced MD
Solution: A complete network upgrade and hosted unified communications & collaboration
- New cabling infrastructure was implemented that also supported medical diagnostic equipment, which was integrated into the NVEC EMR
- Upgraded internet services were brought in for hosted cloud services
- New network infrastructure was deployed with managed switching and routing to accommodate voice, data, video, and wireless applications
- Deployed Quorum’s Unified Communication and Collaboration system, which connected all five of their offices with many new advanced features
Results: Advancing the network, but reducing the cost.
- Connecting all five offices on a single platform resulting in both savings and seamless real-time communication between all offices
- Greatly improved QOS
- Provides the offices with redundant and auto-recovery architecture
- A standardized infrastructure allows for a robust and flexible environment for future systems deployments
